Circleville, OH 5/13/07 Supermoto Track Day.

Well with another track day under my belt, I feel that I’ve learned some valuable lessons. This time I learned why you use the pad that comes with your handlebars. The reason is that if you land short on a jump there is nothing to keep your chin from hitting the bolts securing the handlebars to the risers. Click here to see exactly what that looks like. Other than that it was a fantastic day. Hannah came with me and helped me drive - thank goodness as I was/am completely worn out and would have been totally dead if I had to drive all of that by myself.

I finally got out and spent a good amount of time in the dirt practicing jumps and feel much better about that section now. I wasn’t doing anything impressive in the dirt, but I can at least ride through it and get a little air without feeling uncomfortable. I think with a few more practices I’ll be able to do some decent jumps and get through that section much quicker than I currently am. I’d like to learn it and try to make it out to a race or two. NASMOTO will be there in a month, but I don’t think I’ll be ready by then… maybe not even this season, but maybe I can try a few races next year?
